Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) July 12, 2012
EventComplete, LLC today announced that it is accepting applications for its Dolphin Tank competition for entrepreneurs taking place on September 24, 2012 at the California Womens Conference at the Long Beach Convention Center.
The California Womens Conference (CWC) will have an interactive session for motivated entrepreneurs. Were thrilled to help bring to life the dreams of entrepreneurs willing to share their ideas, products and concepts with us in the Dolphin Tank, said Michelle J. Patterson, CEO of EventComplete. We swim alongside these women and look forward to helping them develop concise, compelling messages and bring their innovative ideas into reality with guidance from our experts.
What Happens In The Dolphin Tank?
Prior to the conference, executives from Springboard Enterprises will select five start-up companies for an opportunity to pitch their business idea, product or service LIVE in the Dolphin Tank in front of thousands of attendees. The CWC is bringing together top-notch entrepreneurs, investors and start-up experts to be our Dolphins and provide friendly feedback and actionable insights to these five presenters, said Patterson.
Each presenter will have two minutes to their pitch their idea and include a specific question, request or description of a challenge that they face. The Dolphins will then evaluate the presenters and give them tangible, actionable input on how to improve their pitch in order to attract investors, partners, colleagues or customer interest. In addition, the CWC will have a team of Resource Partners in the audience offering their own insights, suggestions or connections for each of the presenters. The Resource Partners include bankers, lawyers, accountants and branding experts who regularly work with entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Each of the five companies will receive a gift bag filled with resources to help them with their business as well as a chance to meet with a selection of Resource Partners following their presentation to ask questions, get ideas and identify key resources for their business. Additionally, runner-up candidates who did not present on the main stage, could be selected to participate in this follow-on session.
Whether applicants are creating an ‘app’ that helps people find new friends; a website that assists parents in finding the right camp for their children; or a novel approach to reducing stress, it’s all exciting to us! said Denise Brosseau, co-founder and member of the National Council of Advisors of venture catalyst Springboard Enterprises. Springboard is the premier platform where entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts meet to build great women-led businesses.
